The Family

With 2010 in full swing, it's time to get the blogging up to speed!

Kody and Lusine came up for the day. After we stuffed ourselves with the great food at one of our favorite restuarants, Lucille's, we're all sitting around working on our computers. Even Chuck joined us for a while catching up on the news, e-mail, and surfing. What a site....I decided now was as good a time as any to try and catch up on the blog.

Christmas in 2009 was anything but traditional for us this year. While Chuck, Jesse, and I had the "dinner" on Christmas day, we actually celebrated with the family on January 9th with all the trimmings; dinner, tree, gift exchange, decorations, etc. The only thing which would have made it better, would have been having Lusine with us. She was in LA "shooting" for an upcoming episode of Hooked. One of the pitfalls of "stepping outside the box", we missed you Lusine!

As always, it was great to get the "Busch Boys/Men" all together. We shared a lot of laughs and made quite a few new memories. Chase was able to stay for about 10 days and broke up the excitement at the house with a 4 day trip to Tahoe for snowboarding. Or maybe it was his polite way of saying "way to much time with the old folks", either way, we loved having him here.

Our nephew Zach surpised us all by getting married in early December to Jessica Duffy. We haven't had the chance to meet in person, but I've talked to her on the phone, seen pictures, and heard a lot of good things. I know Zach is very happy and we are delighted to have a new niece in the Family.

Mom Prince came in November to spend about 10 days. I love having her here and the time goes by way to fast. I just hope I didn't wear her out to much, after all this was suppose to be a time for her to relax. We shopped, crafted, visited, and spent one full day in San Francisco for a matinee of "Wicked", then dinner with Kody and Lusine, and back to Roseville (all in one day).

Chuck and I were able to spend 4 days and 3 nights on our annual "Entek Cruise" in early November and we couldn't have ask for better weather. A few sprinkles, but for the most part it stayed around 70 during the day. This year we flew into San Diego, which was a nice change. While we didn't get to see Chase, we were able to talk on the phone and text during our wait in the airport. I don't suppose he'll let us count that as a visit???

After spending time with our nephew Brian in July and then our trip to Vegas in August, he lost his courageous battle with cancer on September 13th. As a family (with friends included) we were able to grieve, tell stories, laugh, and cry together. Brian was truly an inspiration to all of us, and brought us all together to celebrate his life and what he meant to all of us. Friendships and bonds were renewed, and grown cousins had the chance to get to know each other as adults (or so they think :).

Brian, not a day goes by I don't think about you and wish we had more time together. You will remain in our hearts forever, but I know you and Grandpa are catching up and watching over us all...Until we meet again.

It's about time I get started, I can always make improvements as I learn.

Thanks to my two niece's Lexi and Liz and their creative blogs, they inspired me to start ours.

There is nothing more I like to talk about than my family and what a great way to do it, so ladies THANK YOU and keep up the good work.

Chuck and I have been married for 29+ years and are looking forward to many more great years ahead. It sure is different being "empty nesters", but at the same time, it's like a new adventure we can create together as we go along.

The profile picture of our family is one of the first "family pictures" we've had in a long time, thank you so much Kyrie.

Our oldest Chase lives, works, and plays in San Diego. It's hard to get together often, but when we do, we laugh a lot and enjoy each others company. Chase is working on finishing up his Bachelors Degree, and if all goes well, he'll be all done in August....Hang in there!

Kody and Lusine live in San Francisco where Lusine has been working on her Masters and will be finished by the end of the month (YEAH Lusine). We have loved having them in the Bay Area because we get to see them more often than we did before. We are hopeful they can stick around for a while after graduation, but we'll see.

Kody is pursuing his film career while living in San Francisco. While it's not what he would ultimately like to be doing full time, the work he is doing has given him some great experience and good contacts. Again, we are hoping something big comes up so they stay in the Bay area, but we'll understand if work and opportunity take them back to Los Angeles. I'm sure Lusine's family would be thrilled to get them back.

Jesse is still living in the Roseville area. Thank goodness they didn't all move so far away. He installs accoustical ceilings for commerical businesses and is really doing well. We're thankful there is enough work to keep the business going. He's in the process of buying a house and if that goes through, what free time he had will be gobbled up in working on the house and property (1/4 of an acre of very over grown ground). He's so talented in so many of the construction trades, he'll be able to do the majority of the work required.
